WordPress:Malware Scan & Security Plug-in [Malware and Virus Detection and Removal] has a function to log hacker attacks.
We will introduce this feature in this issue.
Install and activate WordPress Doctor Malware Scanner (free)
Please download the plugin from here,
- Log in to your WordPress account and click on Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin from the admin page.
- Select the ZIP file you just downloaded and click Install Now to activate the plugin.
- Click on “Malware Scan” which will be added to the left menu of the admin page.
Leave the plugin active for a few days or 7 days and it will log the hacks.
You can view the logs of hacker attacks from the plugin’s settings page > IP Block tab.
The logs will be displayed as shown below and list up to 50 (they will be deleted periodically so the database will not grow).
Many sites are under constant attack. If you don’t see any logs, you are very lucky. Generally speaking, every site is attacked by hackers 3 or 4 times a day on average. This means that hackers do not know that your site exists.
What if I catch a hacker attack?
This log shows the IP of the attacking computer, the vulnerable file that is being attacked (even if the site does not have this file, the hacker will attack the vulnerable file exhaustively), and the data that was sent to the site.
It is possible to find out how many hacker IPs have planted hacking activities at the following sites and others.
We recommend that you block dangerous IPs by using the IP blocking function in our plugin.
(The paid version of the plugin has a function to automatically block IPs, so please consider this option as well.)
